Odourlust is a project of speculative design that investigates how humans could potentially restore their sense of smell in a future where it’s been lost due to the current critical levels of air pollution.

 

The anosmia depicted is in itself a metaphor aimed at raising awareness towards greater health implications in the present and future generations. The final "device", crafted using a CNC machine, is a tool to increase the effects of Auriculotherapy in restoring the sense of smell on an individual and autonomous basis.

 

This project has been developed in collaboration with Dr Patrizia Reti (MD specialised in Acupuncture) and with Dr Lilian Calderón-Garcidueñas from the Environmental Neuroprevention Laboratory in Missoula (MT).
